Position Summary
The Tasting Room Associate is the face of DaFoe, providing an exceptional guest experience from the moment visitors walk in. This role involves pouring and presenting wines, educating guests about our winemaking philosophy, managing sales transactions, and maintaining a clean, organized tasting room environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and engage guests with warmth and professionalism
  • Present and pour wines, explaining varietals, vintages, and winemaking practices
  • Share the history and story of DaFoe Wines in a personable and authentic way
  • Promote and process wine sales, wine club memberships, and events
  • Operate POS systems accurately for sales and inventory tracking
  • Maintain a clean, organized tasting room, bar area, and outdoor seating spaces
  • Assist with restocking, merchandising, and inventory management
  • Support private tastings, special events, and off-site promotions as needed
  • Comply with all ABC regulations and ensure responsible alcohol service

Qualifications

  • Previous hospitality, retail, or wine industry experience preferred
  • Passion for wine, food, and customer service
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work weekends is manditory
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Able to lift and carry 40 lbs (cases of wine) and stand for extended periods
  • Knowledge of the Santa Ynez Valley wine region a plus
