We are seeking a proactive, well-connected wine professional to serve as a Marketing & Outreach Consultant for Del Rey Wine Center.
This role is primarily remote and marketing-driven, focused on:
This is not a traditional field sales role. Instead, the consultant will drive brand awareness and lead generation through strategic positioning within the LA wine ecosystem.
In-person responsibilities are limited to select event attendance and occasional meetings virtually and at the facility as needed.
Key Responsibilities
1. Trade & Industry Outreach (Remote)

Identify and follow up with wine trade magazines, newsletters, and local industry publications for potential feature placements or advertising opportunities.

Build relationships with editors, writers, and industry media contacts.

Maintain a database of media contacts and submission timelines.
2. Auction House & Broker Follow-Up (Remote)

Develop relationships with local and national auction houses.

Follow up on auction events to connect with buyers and sellers who may require professional storage.

Cultivate ongoing referral partnerships with brokers and wine consultants.
3. Event Research & Strategy (Remote)

Maintain a quarterly calendar of high-value wine events, tastings, auctions, and collector gatherings.

Research which events justify booth presence versus simple attendance.

Evaluate ROI potential of each event.
4. Event Booth Negotiation & Coordination (Remote)

Initiate conversations with event organizers.

Negotiate booth placement, pricing, and sponsorship opportunities.

Coordinate logistics for select event appearances.
5. Select Event Attendance

Attend key wine industry events representing Del Rey Wine Center.

Capture light social content (photos/videos).

Network strategically with collectors and trade professionals.
6. Digital Engagement & Lead Follow-Up (Remote)

Assist with Instagram engagement and community interaction.

Track inbound leads and referral sources.

Follow up on event-generated contacts and warm introductions.
7. Very Limited Field Presence
Ideal Candidate

Deeply connected in the LA wine ecosystem (sommeliers, brokers, auction houses, collectors).

Experienced in wine distribution, brokerage, consulting, or hospitality.

Strong written communicator comfortable reaching out to trade publications and event organizers.

Organized and capable of managing outreach pipelines and follow-ups.

Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

Understands high-end collector psychology and relationship-driven marketing.

Compensation: $20/hour + Commission (Target Total Earnings $2,500/month)
