Assistant Winemaker/ Cellarmaster

This position requires knowledge of all aspects of winemaking from crush to bottle. This job is for a self starter with acute attention to detail and a passion to make high quality wine. The assistant winemaker/ cellarmaster will report directly to the winemaker and will handle day-to-day cellar activities.

Responsibilities:

• Work under the guidance of the winemaker to plan and coordinate cellar activities

• Produce work orders

• Production, including but not limited to, crush pad, pump-over/punch-downs, fermentation monitoring, barrel downs, racking, filtering and bottling

• Lab analysis include wet analysis and enzymatics on spectrophotometer

• Participate in tastings

• Daily cellar maintenance

• Maintain records for safety and wine as required by law

• Vineyard assistance

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bilingual (Spanish and English) a plus but not required

• Positive attitude

• Multiple years in wine production

• Well versed in excel/google sheets

• Ability to work long hours during the seasons that require it (harvest, bottling)

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift a minimum of 40 lbs
