We are looking for a motivated individual to fill our cellar position. Chacewater Winery is a family owned and operated winery located in Lake County, California. The interns who work with us during harvest have an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on cellar experience, be part of a talented team and work in a positive environment. The position is fluid and offers a broad range of training in various cellar tasks. We work with several different grape varieties farmed by incredible wine growers in fantastic vineyards located in Lake County. No previous harvest experience is necessary. Lunch and snacks are provided.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Have a strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Be self-motivated, team-oriented and reliable
• Be able to lift 50 pounds and work 10+ hours per day on your feet
• Willing to work weekends and overtime during the dynamic harvest season
DAILY FUNCTIONS
• Cleaning and sanitation of crush equipment and winery facilities
• Daily set-up and break down of crush equipment
• Hydrating, filling, and topping barrels
• Punch downs, pump-overs, brix readings, juice, and wine sampling
• Inoculation and fermentation additions
• Vineyard sampling
• Various other duties as assigned by winemaking team
