Harvest Internship (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

POSITION OVERVIEW: We are looking for one full-time team member to join our most excellent 2019 harvest crew. This is a temporary position expected to run from late August through mid-November. A great work ethic and the ability to work as part of a high-performing team are essential. Prior winery experience preferred. Floral or flowery patterned work boots are a plus. Job assignments will vary and depend on experience. 

•  Cleaning and sanitizing winery equipment and tanks
•  Processing and sorting grapes
•  Punching down and pumping over fermenting lots
•  Making additions to juice and wine
•  Transferring and racking juice and wine
•  Managing barrels, including cleaning, filling, stirring and topping
•  Enjoying frequent team dinners on the patio
•  Performing other duties and responsibilities as required

Most importantly, a great work ethic and the ability to fit in with a team. Harvest is hard work, but made infinitely better when working as a part of an outstanding team. This is a skilled job, so previous winery experience preferred. Ideal candidate will have forklift operation experience, be able to operate a winery pump and be able to operate a press. Training will be provided.

We specialize in small lot, expressive, vineyard select Viognier, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Rhone blends sourced from our estate and other carefully selected Southern Oregon vineyards. Barrel 42 was formed in 2014 to produce soulful and compelling wines for a limited number of customers. Due to the diverse climate in Southern Oregon, we produce a wide range of wines covering diverse grape varietals from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay to Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo and Sangiovese.
