We are pleased to announce that we are looking to add a Wine Sales Associate to our Wine & Spirits shop in Manhattan’s newest neighborhood, Hudson Yards, located on West 30th and 10th Avenue, convenient to the 7-train line.
Job Overview
Citarella's is seeking a Full-Time Wine Store Sales Associate for our Hudson Yards location who will act as an in-store wine/spirits expert while readily assisting customers to determine needs, making beverage recommendations, and dedicating themselves to delivering an exceptional experience to each and every Citarella customer.
Basic Job Function:
Responsible for providing quality customer service experience while assisting customers with product selection and inquiries, merchandising according to Company standards, and presenting a positive image of Citarella to all customers and staff.
Minimum Requirements
.
- Strong knowledge and background in wines & spirits.
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a wine & spirits shop or Sommelier role with emphasis on customer service and sales.
- Must have ability to work independently, and develop and build customer relationships in order to maximize repeat visits.
- Ability to engage and communicate with customers in a prompt and professional manner.
- Must be dependable, have excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Must be committed to working together as a team to grow sales and customer base.
Tasks / Responsibilities:
- Responsible for opening and closing duties for the shop.
- Ensuring systems are up and running for Credit/Debit card transactions.
- Reconciliation of all card transactions after closing.
- Inventory duties when required, responsible for helping maintain proper inventory counts. “cycle counts”
- Cutting PO’s and placing orders when required
- Take inquiries regarding wine inventory and assist with customer requests, inquiries, and needs.
- Assist store manager in proper display of wine products according to Company specifications.
- Assist Wine Store Manager in ordering, receiving and storage of wine and product orders.
- Assist Wine Store Manager in creating par levels and in conducting and maintaining inventory of products at established levels based on movement and forecast.
- Shipping of Wine Products.
- Responsible for maintenance of the store to ensure cleanliness and organization at all times.
- Ensure company standards are met for store and associate appearance at all times.
- Act as a liaison between customers and Wine Store Manager in his/her absence.
- Keep up-to-date with knowledge on all wine pricing, signage, product updates/displays.
- Act as a liaison between Corporate Customer Service and Wine Store Customer service in any client inquiries as needed.
- Assist Wine Store Manager with displays, signage, and special projects as needed.
- Participate, as needed, with Community Outreach programs, demonstrations, initiatives.
- Assist Demo Team with special promotional events as needed.
Additional Requirements:
- Attend meetings, training, and tastings as needed and scheduled.
- Travel to other Company locations as needed.
- Perform any reasonable requests by Sr. leadership/ownership.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of position including standing for extended periods of time and lifting loads up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to read and write the English language, conduct business related mathematics and analyze data as required.
