Upsidedown Wine is a charitable wine company that is on mission to make a real impact around the globe through our awesome wines. It was founded by Seth and Audrey Kitzke in 2014 and has been growing ever since.
We are currently seeking an experienced individual to manage our brick and mortar location in Hood River, OR. The ideal candidate is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about wine. They love people, and thrive off of cultivating relationships and curating experiences. They are a leader, and have had prior experience managing a team. The Tasting Room Manager will carry a lot of responsibility, so it will take someone who is highly organized, motivated and welcomes new challenges.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Three or more years prior management experience in the wine industry with a proven ability to be an effective, innovative and enthusiastic leader
- Experience leading teams to success, goal-driven leadership
- Passion for wine and customer service with a strong wine knowledge
- Self-motivated and able to act independently to solve problems as they occur
- Ability to multitask while handling tasting room needs and office administration;
- Polished, professional, warm and welcoming personal presentation
- Strong hospitality and customer service focus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Square POS system, VinoShipper
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Tasting Room Manager is responsible for all aspects of operating the tasting room, including but not limited to:
- Hands-on management of a small tasting room staff and interaction with winery guests
- Managing inventory, printed materials, and other functional tasks
- Developing and managing the staffing schedule
- Collaborating with hospitality and industry peers to create successful referral programs
- Achieving tasting room goals including sales and new club members
- Employee sales and customer service training, one-on-one coaching, and ongoing wine education
- Conducting off-site pourings, tastings and events as needed
- Being the in-house expert and training other staff on our partnered non-profit organizations
This is a full-time position with a competitive compensation structure, including a bonus program.
