General Sales Manager Position (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

Hawkins Cellars is seeking a full time General Sales Manager. We are a small but growing winery with locations in both the Willamette Valley Oregon and Columbia Gorge, and are known for our wonderful variety of award winning wines as well as legendary customer service. We are looking for a candidate who, above all else, is enthusiastic about wine and people, is able manage a wide variety of duties and responsibilities, and is a self-starter. The ideal candidate will have wide ranging sales and marketing experience implementing direct-to-consumer, wholesale, and national sales strategies. The responsibilities of the candidate will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:

Responsibilities
- Increase both in-state and out-of-state sales and distribution channels for Hawkins wines
- Work with ownership to manage tasting room staff and implement DTC sales strategies
- Work with staff to grow the wine club program and other DTC sales channels to meet monthly/quarterly/annual sales goals
- Initiate and support strategic efforts to increase tasting room traffic and sales, including organizing of events and activities
- Work with other team members to execute social media and event communications
- Ensure excellence in customer service standards is being upheld by tasting room staff
- Work with staff to ensure that all incoming phone calls, emails, and donation requests are addressed and responded to

Qualifications:
- Minimum five years related wine sales, marketing, and management experience 
- Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
- WSET Level 3 in Wine, CSW, or equivalent certification preferred 
- Strong communication and writing skills required
- Lives in- or is willing to relocate to- the Columbia Gorge area preferred
- Detail oriented, multi-tasker, and self motivated
- Must be a team player and get along well with others
- Strong proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office products
- Able to work in fast-paced environment
- Efficiency in hosting multiple groups simultaneously, while maintaining excellent hospitality
- Must be able to work weekends
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand for long periods of time, have a valid OLCC Service Permit, have a valid driver’s license, be over the age of 21, and be legally eligible to work in the United States.

Compensation:
Depends on experience – includes health care coverage, paid holidays, vacation and sick time; mileage compensation, commission, and bonus potential.
