Tasting room manager & event associate
We are truly a small, family run winery in the heart of Dry Creek Valley, 7 miles north of the town of Healdsburg. We’ve been operating for 30 years, and do everything from growing grapes, making and bottling wine, marketing and selling our product both directly to the consumer and through wholesale distribution. We pride ourselves on transparency and integrity of the winemaking process, and have coined the slogan “No Soulless Wines”.
We’re looking for an additional team member who shares our values, who can help with the daily tasks of keeping our tasting room organized and managed, who is enthusiastic about bringing people together to celebrate, and has creative ways of putting on events. Must be self- motivated and directed, with an impeccable ability to communicate.
Job description
Working directly with the sales and marketing manager (also family member), your role will be to oversee the day to day operations of the tasting room, planning and executing events, assisting in marketing and ecommerce. Although these are the main focuses, we all wear many different hats. Being willing to help clean and organize, pack wine, or run errands are also expected, and much appreciated. Schedule is 4-5 days per week, with weekends required, however sheduling is flexible.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Tasting Room & Hospitality (50%)
- Write the tasting room schedule monthly
- Greet guests, pour and sell wine
- Sign up new wine club members
- Assist sales manager with tasting room employee reviews
- Maintain non-wine merchendise inventory
- Keep tasting room tidy, organized, and stocked
- Delegate projects to tasting room staff
- Schedule consumer & trade tasting groups
Special Events (20%)
- Assisting in planning, setting up, and executing winery events
Administrative (15%)
- Taking and handling winery phone calls
- process and pack shipping orders
- working with and updating database systems and website
PR & Marketing (15%)
- Visiting wineries, B&B’s, hotels, ect. To distribute rack cards and drive traffic to the tasting room.
- Tracking outreach cards
- Writing & editing copy for emails, website, promotional and marketing material
- Assist in social media maintenance and post creation
Qualifications:
- Some management experience preffered, but not necessary
- Passion and knowledge of wine, both sensory analysis and winemaking and viticulture practices.
- Proficient in writing & basic computer programs.
- Detail oriented
- At least 21 years of age
- Have a valid CA driving liscence
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 50lbs
