Elevation Winery in Healdsburg, CA is hiring harvest interns for the 2022 Crush!

 

My name is Dan Fitzgerald and I am the owner/winemaker here at Elevation Wines.  I’ve been making wine for 20 years, here in California as well as Australia. For the last decade I have been running custom crush.

Internships are hands-down the best way to learn a lot in a short period.  I know because I enjoyed many harvests as an intern, worked for kind and knowledgeable winemakers, and made many long-term friendships with my fellow co-workers.  The opportunity to work with so many varieties of grapes, and the knowledge I have gained from working with so many different winemakers, has been incredible.

Now I want to pay that forward, and our new facility provides me with the perfect platform.  I’m looking for people who have a passion for winemaking, enjoy working with a great team of people, and want to keep learning.

Located in the heart of downtown Healdsburg, Elevation is a custom crush facility that provides space for local winemakers and growers to make their wines from grape to bottle.  We have excellent equipment, and a passionate team that enjoys collaborating in a fun, fast paced cellar.

Work typically begins by mid-August and finishes toward the end of October. 

 

Primary Duties:

Cleaning: Sanitizing tanks, T-bins and equipment

Grape Sorting

Punch downs, pump-overs and pulsing fermenting grapes

Draining & pressing fermentations

Barrel work

Additions

Lab work, if you have a relevant background or aptitude

Learning, working hard and having fun

 

Qualifications:

Great work ethic and attitude

Ability to take direction and pay attention to detail

Physically fit

Able to lift 50 pounds

Able to fit inside a standard tank man-door

Previous experience preferred, but not necessary

Forklift experience + certification is a plus
