Aperture Cellars and Devil Proof Vineyards, founded in 2009 by winemaker Jesse Katz, champions a range of stunning and highly acclaimed Bordeaux-styled wines from Sonoma County. Recently, our team was awarded the first-ever 100-point wine from the Wine Advocate for Alexander Valley, continuing to set the benchmark for Cabernet and Bordeaux-inspired blends from Sonoma County. Our driven team of enthusiastic professionals operates out of our modern, newly designed hospitality lounge and state-of-the-art winery building on the same estate property in Healdsburg.
Position Summary:
Our young, dynamic wine brand is seeking to hire an additional Estate Host to join our motivated hospitality team who is passionate about providing high-level guest service. Estate Hosts are responsible for efficiently and effectively promoting the sale of wine through customer service, world-class hospitality, and meaningful storytelling. All efforts are focused on creating an elevated wine-focused experience. Estate Hosts work as a part of a dynamic team to create lasting memories and to meet or exceed sales goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
*Shows commitment to excellence and high standards in work product
*Possesses solid knowledge of wines and winemaking processes
*Anticipates guests needs and provides exceptional guest service at all times
*Maintains Hospitality Center by ensuring that it is inviting and appealing
*Flexibility, can manage constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
*Accurately operates POS system and reservation system
*Utilize strategic selling skills to encourage sales, targeting set objectives
Minimum Qualifications:
*Must be at least 21 years of age
*First-hand knowledge, appreciation for, and passion regarding wine and wine-related topics
*Prior experience in direct wine consumer sales in a winery, restaurant, or wine bar
*Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
*Must be a team player and maintain a positive disposition
*Present a professional appearance and demeanor
*Ability to lift/move/carry 50 lbs on a repetitive basis and ability to stand for extended periods of time
*Must be able to work weekends and some evenings.
