Huneeus Vintners (HV) is looking for a hardworking, self-motivated individual to assist as a Cellar Technician with all areas of the winemaking process at our Flowers Winery in Healdsburg.
Flowers Winery produces Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from its two estate properties, Camp Meeting Ridge Vineyard and Sea View Ridge Vineyard, as well as select vineyards in the coolest regions of the Sonoma Coast AVA, which are farmed to Flowers’ specifications by their own crews. In addition to direct consumer sales, the wines are sold to fine restaurants and retailers in the US and overseas.
Flowers Winery is one brand in the Huneeus Vintners family. Our sister brands include: Quintessa, Illumination, Leviathan, Faust and Benton-Lane (based in OR). This position may provide support to Faust, based in Sebastopol, depending on Harvest business needs at each site.

Essential Duties:
Performs all cellar tasks including but not limited to: topping, racking, blending, additions, filtration, and bottling. Maintains quality standards for all cellar operations including barrel management, winery sanitation, and equipment maintenance. Maintains and improves facility organization and cleanliness on an ongoing basis. Provide highest standard of sanitation and cellar craft to ensure wine quality is maintained. Recommends process improvements that utilize best practices in winemaking to maximize productivity and efficiency.
Harvest Responsibilities:
• Acting shift supervisor during harvest and any other time of the year as determined by production team
• Ensures harvest intern teams are trained in accordance with safety compliance, quality control standards and standard equipment operating procedures
• Maintains quality standard for all cellar and winemaking operations including but not limited to, sorting, crushing, pressing, additions, fermentation management
Other:
• Member of the winemaking tasting panel, participating in discussions and decisions on blends
• May be asked to research special projects regarding processes and capital expenditure as related to the cellar
• Participates in review and revision of winemaking, cellar and safety standard operating procedures as required
• Lab Duties: May be asked to perform quality control during bottling
• Record Keeping: Maintain inventory for topping and bulk wine
Qualifications:
• A positive attitude, open and curious – asks thoughtful questions
• Established forklift skills (valid Driver’s License)
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills (English)
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and mathematical aptitude
• Detail oriented mindset
• Commitment to excellence, safety, integrity, and ethics
• Must be able to work independently with limited supervision and cohesively in a team environment
• 1+ year cellar experience
• Must be legally able to work in the USA
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, such as early mornings, and weekends, to accommodate the needs of harvest operations
• Ability to climb stairs and lift cases of wine, up to ~50 lbs
• Requires the ability to sit bend, stoop, twist and walk over uneven surfaces for prolonged periods of time
• Able to stand for long periods of time
