Description:
Tri-Valley Vineyard Management is seeking a very organized and motivated Assistant Vineyard Manager to join our management team. Working under the direction of the Vineyard Manager, this individual will oversee the day-to-day management and development of vineyards located primarily in the Healdsburg, Geyserville area. 

Requirements:
•  A minimum of 5 years experience in all phases of viticulture, vineyard management and development.
•  Must have a current CA Driver’s License, with clean DMV report.
•  Proficiency in Spanish/ basic English.
•  Good planning and organizational skills.
•  Good written and oral communication skills.
•  Good basic computer skills.
•  Ability to manage changing priorities while maintaining a positive attitude.
•  Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
•  Ability to lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds and regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
•  Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
•  Willingness to drive to various vineyard locations in Sonoma County.
•  Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, seasonal night duties, and periodic overtime.
•  Willingness to assist vineyard manager with other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
•  Ensure that the day-to-day vineyard operations are completed safely and efficiently.
•  Work closely with vineyard manager to coordinate activities of labor crews, equipment operators and other related personnel.
•  Assist with the management of irrigation, fertilization, and pest spray programs.
•  Monitor vineyard operations to ensure fruit quality and production are achieved.
•  Manage and improve workforce training and performance.
•  Communicate to vineyard manager of daily progress.
•  Promote a positive work environment and overall employee morale.

Must have experience with the following:
•  Ability to operate tractors and other farm equipment.
•  Basic tractor repair & maintenance.
•  Basic farm equipment repair & maintenance.
•  Disking and mowing of vineyards 
•  Application of fungicides, herbicides and pesticides.
•  Trellis installation and maintenance.
•  Irrigation installation and maintenance.
•  Frost protection of vineyards.
•  Planting, pruning, tying and training of grapevines.
•  Vineyard harvesting.
•  Training of personnel.
•  Keeping records of vineyard operations.

Work Environment
•  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. 
•  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
•  The work environment is both indoors and outdoors, including all weather conditions: cold, muddy, windy, hail, foggy, or rainy in winter, sunny and very hot during summer. Temperatures may range from 25-110°F
•  On ranches, the employee will occasionally experience exposure to airborne agents like dust, spores, pollens, insects, smells, etc.
