Tasting Room Manager (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Keuka Lake Vineyards is looking for a tasting room manager to help us develop our service program and grow into a new space. The ideal candidate has hospitality and management experience, exhibits flexibility and creative problem solving, and has an eye for detail. A great opportunity to help shape the future direction of the winery, especially as we undergo renovations on our 200-year-old barn to expand our guest capacity.

Requirements:
•  1-2 years management experience
•  Positive attitude and diligent work ethic
•  Focused and detail-oriented
•  Hands on, self-starter, able to multi-task
•  Familiarity with POS platforms (experience with Orderport a plus)
•  A passion for hospitality

Responsibilities include:
•  Manage a small tasting room team, recruiting additional full and part time hospitality staff as needed.
•  Supervise, schedule and train tasting room staff members to create the best experience of KLV wines possible.
•  Communicate efficiently with the rest of the management team.
•  Help the KLV team through the renovation process and transition into our new larger tasting room.
•  Enforce all Tasting Room procedures including opening/closing, cleanliness, stocking, preparation, etc.
•  Maintain, coordinate and set-up daily reservations.
•  Create special programming and promotions to drive tasting room traffic.
•  Report and track tasting room health and performance.
•  Grow wine club membership and increase retention rate.
•  Coordinate wine club shipments (three times per year).
•  Act as an ambassador for KLV in the community.
•  Update tasting room flights according to wine releases and availability.
•  Winery knowledge particularly in the Finger Lakes region is preferred but not required.
