A desirable candidate will be someone with wine and spirits knowledge and the enthusiasm to convey that to our customers. This position provides an excellent opportunity to advance your exposure and knowledge within the wine world. This could be a part or full time position, depending on the candidate’s experience and needs.

Position Requirements:

* Team player. Willingness to join our team and work collaboratively toward business goals and objectives.

* Ability and eagerness to convey the unique Putnam & Vine experience: cultivate mutually beneficial relationships with customers by understanding their wine preferences and earning their trust and repeat business through top rate recommendations and outstanding service.

* Have enough knowledge of the wine world to speak comfortably and confidently about all major wine producing regions.

* Eagerness to continue to taste, learn and participate in tastings and events to further your wine knowledge.

* Well organized and detail oriented with good prioritization and time management skills. A self-starter who recognizes what needs to be accomplished and follows through accordingly.

* Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds repeatedly.

* Reliable transportation and occasional deliveries required. Gas allowance provided.

* Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

* WSET, CMS or similar certification a plus

* Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays and closing shifts.

Additional Responsibilities:

* Receive, price and restock inventory as needed.

* Assist with deliveries, tastings, dinners, special events and the like as needed.

* Trusted key holder, opening and closing the shop following store protocol.

* Willingness to follow CDC and CT Governor best practices and protocols as they relate to Covid-19.

* Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
