Wine Wise Greenwich is looking for a Store Manager. The position is full-time with some overtime hours when necessary. The store is a small, high-end wine boutique store with over 1,000+ SKUs, requiring a detail oriented candidate to manage inventory and knowledgeably assist customers both in the store and via online/phone orders.
Expected responsibilities:
• Managing inventory, including: receiving deliveries to the store; restocking the delivered items to the shelves; entering the delivered items into the POS; making sure the store inventory and the POS are accurate; making sure all store inventory has a marked price.
• Attentively assisting customers, including taking special orders and following up on delivery requests in-store and over the phone
• Assisting with local deliveries, including managing order notifications from our website
• Ensuring the website is up-to-date on a weekly basis
• Opening and closing the store
• Ensuring company standards are met, including: creating a pleasant, fun, and welcoming work environment; ensuring a polite and attentive attitude towards customers.
• Managing the store's tasting calendar by making sure it is accurate and filled (especially during October, November, and December), requesting sample bottles from distributors.
Qualifications:
• Store management experience is a Must
• Must be enthusiastic about selling wine and working with customers
• Must be detail-oriented
• A strong sense of responsibilities and work ethics.
• A flexible work schedule: weekends and some holidays are MUST, including but not limited to the day before Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships
• Organized and efficient in fast paced retail environment
• Strong leadership and project management skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Desire for long term growth in the wine business
• Highly motivated, proactive, enthusiastic about the job at hand
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs and stand for extended periods of time
• Must have valid driver's license
• Must have experience working with wine and spirits professionally
• Computer literacy absolutely necessary
• Customer relations experience necessary
• Wine knowledge such as WSET, CMS, or any equivalent certification is preferred, but not required.
