Wooldridge Creek Winery is located in the heart of the beautiful Applegate Valley AVA of Southern Oregon. In addition to producing approximately 5000 cases per year from our certified organic 52 acre estate vineyard, we also receive and process several hundred tons of fruit from neighboring growers with whom we have partnered to produce and sell as finished bulk wine. We are looking for an oenologically minded intern for the 2019 harvest. We are a small production crew consisting of the owner/winemaker, assistant winemaker, operations manager, and a harvest crew of 3-4 seasonal interns. Currently we are seeking an intern with at least one year of harvest/production experience to work directly with the winemaking team.

Summary
Seeking an experienced harvest intern with a passion for production winemaking to work in all aspects of wine production from Sept until mid-November. Shifts will be approximately 12 hours in duration, 6 days a week for the first few weeks, then transitioning to a 5 day work week. 

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
-Conduct pre-harvest analysis of fruit 
-Receive and process fruit on a production line that has the capability to tip gondolas via mechanical hoist
-Learn to perform floatation for clarification of white and rosé musts
-Prepare and assist with inoculations and nutrient additions
-Track and monitor fermentations
-Perform pump overs
-Assist in drain and press and digging out fermenters
-Work with all other aspects of wine production, including must transfers, tank and equipment sanitation, barreling down and barrel fermentation.
-Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols 

Qualifications
-Ablitiy to read and write in English
-Basic math skills
-Minimum of one harvest worked in a production winery setting
-Some relevant educational background (working towards a degree in enology or viticulture is ideal, other relevant sciences or work experience also considered)
-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work long hours, climb ladders and stairs, and work in variable weather conditions
-Positive, “can do” attitude, reliable and dependable work history
-Experience with Excel
-Forklift experience a plus
