We are seeking a natural leader to drive first class guest experiences on a 42 acre Vineyard Estate in the heart of Sonoma Wine Country. As the Manager of Hospitality and Retail Sales you will be responsible for leading the team of Tasting Room Associates to deliver best-in-class hospitality and wine tasting experiences and day-to-day operations on the Estate. You will also be responsible for:
- Collaborate to ensure successful execution of all estate events, including food program
- Work with Wine Club team to ensure that members feel special every time they visit the VOM tasting room and promotions are coordinated and resourced
- Maintain operations expense budgets and ensuring that annual expenses do not exceed plan
- Develop/training team members to meet their full potential, including building a framework for wine education, retail knowledge, customer service skills and a passion for wine
- Drive brand affinity and loyalty to guests and staff, ensure printed collateral meets design specs and brand identity
- Resolution of any guest concerns by using good judgment and tact
- Oversee and manage incentive program and mange payroll/personnel requirements
- Administer wine inventory, staffing/scheduling and performance management
The requirements for this job are as follows:
- B.A. in commerce or business and /or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years retail sales experience with responsibility for managing a team. Preferably in the wine or food and beverage industry.
- Proven track record of success and the ability to ensure a smooth operation that maximizes sales while managing costs
- Excellent people management
- Computer proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Excel, and winemaking software
- Lift and carry 50 pounds
- Ability to work evenings/weekends and holidays
- Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record
Valley of the Moon at Madrone Estate Winery, is a historic winery located in the heart of Glen Ellen. Born on the historic Madrone Vineyards, originally planted in 1863, Valley of the Moon Winery has been at the foundation of Sonoma Valley’s winemaking heritage for over 150 years. As one of the first wineries in Sonoma Valley, Valley of the Moon Winery boasts some of the region’s oldest Zinfandel clones.
