Job Description:
Cynthia Hurley French Wines is an importer of high-quality independent-winemaker French wines. We seek a Wholesale Wine Sales Representative for the Eastern Massachusetts sales markets.
We have some of the best independent French growers in all regions including the Rhone, Champagne, Burgundy, Loire, Bordeaux, South West and Languedoc-Roussillon regions. These estates are generally well known and highly reviewed with strong reputations.
Successful candidates will have a minimum of 3 years experience working as a Sales Rep for a fine wine distributor, covering large fine wine retail and on-premise accounts in Eastern Massachusetts.
We are looking for an experienced, creative, well-organized individual with strong selling skills and excellent verbal communication and presentation skills to expand and leverage our well-regarded wines. Knowledge of French wine regions and French wine is required.
This position requires a strong entrepreneurial spirit and strong personal motivation to succeed in a highly competitive market. You should be the type of person that is self-motivated, seeks independence and has a keen, proven desire to deliver superior results.
Compensation: Salary, commission and eligible for performance bonuses. Sales expenses & health insurance.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients.
- Ensuring sales goals are met.
- Expanding our list of customers within the territory through cold-calling and targeted marketing of on- and off-premise accounts.
- The ability to plan and execute sales strategies both independently and as part of our team.
- Collecting payments when necessary.
- Delivering products to customers when required.
- Supporting clients at promotional events including evenings and weekends.
Requirements include:
- First and foremost, a demonstrated passion for fine wine.
- A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, a good driving record and the ability to retain all three.
- The ability to obtain and retain a Massachusetts Alcohol Salesperson's Permit.
- The ability to lift 40 pounds of weight.
- Smartphone and home Internet access.
- Professional appearance and pleasant personality.
- Proficiency in e-mail and Microsoft Office.
- Reside in the specified territory at time of application.
- The maturity to work effectively independently without being micro-managed.
- On premise and/or retail knowledge is preferred.
- Candidate must be legally eligible for employment in the United States.
- College degree or equivalent is preferred.
