The Vineyard: Nestled on prime land between the vibrant college town of Ann Arbor and the charming city of Dexter, our boutique vineyard promises a unique and invigorating experience.

We opened to the public in July 2025 and have quickly become a local destination for relaxed, outdoor wine tasting and community-driven hospitality. Your Role and Impact: As our winemaker or winemaker assistant, you will be the heart and soul of our winemaking process. From grape to glass, you will have a pivotal role in shaping our wines. Your expertise will guide decisions on equipment, techniques, and wine styles, ensuring each bottle bears the mark of your creativity and skill. Cold Climate Grape Knowledge: Familiarity with or experience working with cold climate hybrid grapes is a strong advantage. We also source vinifera wine grapes from the west and north coast regions of Michigan to round out our portfolio.

Job Description
We are seeking a motivated, hands-on Winemaker to join us for the 2025 harvest season and beyond. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the identity of a new Michigan winery.
- Harvest Commitment: Minimum 20 hours/week during harvest (flexible based on crop and schedule)
- Post-Harvest: 1–2 days/week through the off-season (with potential for expanded hours)
- Schedule: Seasonal (through November 1st), with long-term potential as we build out our year-round tasting room.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of grape processing, fermentation, racking, and bottling
- Monitor fermentations and wine quality (lab and sensory)
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized cellar
- Collaborate on wine style, blending, and long-term production planning
- Participate in harvest planning and equipment setup
- Keep accurate winemaking records and inventory
- Assist with vineyard activities as needed
- Optional: Front-of-house support, including education and pouring during special tastings or events
Ideal Candidate Qualities
- Self-motivated, independent, and comfortable working alone during slower months
- Organized and reliable with strong time management
- Communicative and collaborative when working with seasonal staff
- Forward-facing: open to interacting with guests, supporting events, and participating in tastings
- Passionate about sustainable practices and quality wine production
- Able to lift 50 lbs and work in both warm and cold conditions
Bonus Skills
- Marketing/brand-building experience (especially social media, events, wine clubs)
- Experience with small-lot production and/or startup wineries
- Vineyard or hospitality background
