Key Account Representative (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

Job Brief

Responsible for specialized segment “street execution” in key accounts, as well as implementation of all sales/merchandising programs for designated market(s). Develops and increases distribution of designated brands within the key market.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.)

• Performs functions to obtain sales, secure new business accounts, and service the needs of existing sales accounts within assigned territory.
• Evaluate current account sales, trends, and spending to ensure proper execution in non-traditional channel.
• Performs merchandising activities in accounts that would include stocking shelves, product rotation, proper pricing, stocking cold boxes, vending machines, and building displays.
• Under general direction, solicits business by personally visiting clients, attempting to interest prospective buyers, and explaining the merit of product and its application.
• Analyze the overall non-traditional business and solicit new business while maintaining and growing existing business.  Familiarizes established accounts with new products and developments.
• Write orders subject to approval by company and ensure compliance on all contract agreements and obligations.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on activities, sales volume, and expenses.
• Keeps information on competitive products, promotional matters, sales techniques, pricing, and marketing policies.  Informs company of competitive activity and conditions that would affect company interests.
• Prepares price quotations, delivery dates, and service obligations, in addition to, investigate and resolves customer complaints in accordance with company policy.
• Work with sales representatives in accounts to develop positioned supplier relationships and strengthen market presence.

Education and/or Experience: 

• High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or college degree preferred; one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Language, Mathematical, and Reasoning Skills: 

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, write simple correspondence, and to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.  Spanish bilingual abilities preferred.  Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s, by using the units of American money, weight measurement, volume, and distance.  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished (in written, oral, or diagram form) and to deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Computer Skills: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet, Microsoft Office Suite software (such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and etc.), and order processing systems (such as Logility, Microstrategy, and etc.) or the aptitude to learn.  Other technology used in this occupation: Customer relationship management CRM software; Data base user interface and query software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 

• Requires a current state driver's license; ability to meet company vehicle insurance requirements; and Alcohol Beverage Commission (ABC) License, as required by the state

Other Requirements:  

• Ability to regularly operate a motor vehicle.
