ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are looking for a full time experienced cellar worker to join our team.  The following reflects the essential functions for this job. Other tasks may be assigned from time to time. Duties include, but are not limited to:

Harvest

  • Assist with all harvest operations as needed: fruit sorting, move hoses and equipment; obtain lab samples; make additions to tanks and barrels; aid in pumpovers/punchdowns; dispose of lees; clean equipment, crush pad, and fermentation hall.
  • Operate destemming and sorting equipment, pumps and presses.
  • Forklift operations with grapes, must, barrels and case goods.
  • Load/unload delivery trucks.
  • Follow proper SOPs and remain competent in all areas of production.
  • Quickly and efficiently execute cellar tasks and responsibilities.
  • Accurately document all wine movements and additions.
  • Be able to work extended hours and weekends during crush.

Balance of Year

  • Responsible for bi-weekly topping.
  • Gas partial tanks/barrels three times per week.
  • Gas empty barrels monthly.
  • Perform bung checks daily.
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings.
  • Assist on bottling line.
  • Barrel racking, movement, cleaning; stacking of barrel stillage two high.
  • Responsible for sanitation in all areas of cellar operations including barrels, tanks, winemaking equipment and spaces including floors and drains.
  • Assist in all winemaking operations including: topping, racking, filtering, and transferring juice and wine.
  • Perform and preserve general maintenance of winemaking equipment.

  • Ability to repeatedly lift heavy objects (~60 lbs.)
