Cavalier Distributing is a craft beverage distributor that features some of the United States and the world's finest breweries, wines, spirits, meads, and ciders. Cavalier Distributing is looking for a highly motivated and self-driven Wine & Low Proof Brand Manager to join our team in the wine division for the Ohio market. This is an exciting opportunity to develop innovative strategies to achieve sales goals, as well as make meaningful connections with our accounts.

The Ohio Wine & Low Proof Brand Manager will oversee all aspects for the identified specialty portfolio. This includes development and execution of brand strategy, retail programming, marketing communications, and innovation. The ideal candidate will have the ability to think strategically about brand architecture, consumer targeting, positioning, and customer marketing while also having the ability to identify future trends and opportunities. The successful brand manager will be an outstanding manager, team leader, culture builder and business driver.

Principle Responsibilities:

•  Communicate market programs and agreed upon objectives with Wine and Low Proof Sales manager & State Sales Manager, to ensure proper alignment with monthly and overall company goals
•  Responsible for building and managing a growth strategy for each brand
•  This role is expected to spend 85% of time administratively, and 15% in market.
•  Work with supplier contacts on brands, pricing strategies, promotions, orders, etc
•  Meeting with suppliers based upon volume
•  PO Creation for orders with suppliers
•  Communicating with logistics team for timely order arrival.
•  Understanding warehouse storage and picking scenarios
•  Ensuring product integrity and quality on floor for sale
•  Working in conjunction with Wine Sales Manager to ensure full portfolio movement
•  Monitor business and brand health performance of suppliers using internal and external data resources to identify issues and opportunities to drive both brand development and volume performance
•  Manage brand budgets; ensure that dollars are allocated and spent in an efficient and effective manner; balance expenditures against volume and goals
•  Work with marketing to create quarterly seasonal sell sheets and monthly deal sheets
•  Stay up-to-date on new products and the changing needs of the market
•  Utilize sales tools (IRI)
•  Maintain adherence to all Company policies and procedures.
•  Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

•  Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in a Business or Marketing related field preferred
•  Minimum of 4 years’ brand experience with majority of the experience in the adult beverage industry strongly preferred.
•  Outstanding verbal, written, presentation and influencing skills
•  Ability and willingness to work independently and as part of a team
•  Enthusiastic, high energy, and self-motivated individual with a desire to succeed
•  Superior organization skills with ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
•  Sales and customer service experience preferred
•  Advance computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
•  Valid driver's license with reliable transportation and minimum 21 years of age.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

•  Comprehensive knowledge of Wine & Low Proof / Specialty portfolio.
•  Basic understanding of all Cavalier Distributing products
•  Must possess superior communication, presentation and customer service skills
•  Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with various types of people
•  Strong analytical skills and numeric ability
•  Attention to detail and strong organizations skills
•  Ability to speak and write the English language at least at the high school level is required.
•  Ability to work independently.
•  Ability to process information/merchandise.
•  Ability to communicate with supervisor, Company Sales Representatives, current and prospective customers on a professional level.
•  Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation.
•  Must have a valid unexpired driver’s license with a clean DMV record.

Physical Requirements:

•  Use of hand and foot controls for driving
•  Walking and climbing stairs
•  Two handed lifting, handling and carrying of cases from floor to overhead levels on a frequent basis.
•  Sustained squatting, kneeling, and/or bending while handling products
•  Sufficient manual dexterity to operate business equipment including, but not limited to, company phone, computer, and laptop.
•  Ability to handle product generally weighing 0 - 40 pounds on an occasional basis.
•  Ability to bend and stoop.
