Maintenance Shop Assistant (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

POSITION SUMMARY:     Under supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, keeps maintenance shop clean & organized, monitors parts inventory, performs parts pick up and assists Maintenance Mechanics, in the shop and field, as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Movement of tools, materials & equipment to/from projects and company facilities;
• Repair and maintenance of tools & equipment in shop;
• Maintains shop cleanliness including organizing tools, spare parts and equipment
• Monitors parts inventory and provides list of parts needed to Maintenance Manager.
• Performs routine monitoring / logging duties of facility systems as required
• Picks up parts at various suppliers as needed.
• Other duties as required 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Driver’s License required and must be insurable by company’s insurance provider;
• Mechanical aptitude/mechanical skills is a plus
• Good communication skills;
• Willingness to help with any given task;
• Ability to follow directions and ask questions if unsure;
• Ability to perform tasks in a safe and efficient manner; and
• Available to work overtime on a regular basis. 

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Working conditions in winery operations can be hot or cold, wet, slippery and noisy, and involves exposure to potentially hazardous conditions.  Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds, stand, bend, twist, grasp, push and pull for extended periods of time. Must be able to work at heights. Seasonal variation in workload and long hours during harvest are required.
