Position Summary
The Tasting Room Associate / Tour Guide is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences through engaging wine tastings, educational winery tours, and personalized hospitality. This position serves as a brand ambassador for Castello di Amorosa, educating guests about the winery's wines, history, winemaking practices, and unique castle experience while driving direct-to-consumer sales and Wine Club memberships.
The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, customer service, and sales, with the ability to connect with a diverse range of guests—from wine novices to enthusiasts. This role requires professionalism, reliability, adaptability, and a commitment to creating memorable experiences that exceed guest expectations.
Essential Duties + Responsibilities
Guest Experience and Hospitality
• Welcome and engage guests in a friendly, professional, and hospitable manner.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and create memorable guest experiences.
• Build rapport with guests and tailor presentations to individual interests, wine knowledge, and purchasing preferences.
• Maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude at all times.
Wine Education and Sales
• Conduct wine tastings and educate guests on Castello di Amorosa wines, winemaking techniques, winery history, and brand story.
• Promote and sell wines through consultative sales techniques and product recommendations.
• Meet or exceed individual and team sales goals.
• Promote and enroll qualified guests in the Wine Club.
• Accurately process sales transactions and maintain compliance with company policies and alcohol regulations.
• Assist guests with wine selections and purchases.
Tours and Educational Programs
• Conduct guided tours of the winery and castle while providing accurate and engaging information.
• Escort guests safely through designated tour routes and winery areas.
• Learn and present tour content as directed by management.
• Adapt tour presentations to accommodate varying group sizes and guest interests.
Operations and Support
• Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked tasting and tour areas.
• Assist with inventory management, restocking, and merchandise presentation.
• Support winery-sponsored events and private functions as assigned.
• Attend training sessions and educational opportunities to maintain product knowledge and professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Strong customer service and hospitality skills.
• Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to engage, educate, and build relationships with diverse groups of guests.
• Sales aptitude with the ability to recommend products and drive revenue.
• Ability to learn and effectively communicate wine, winery, and historical information.

• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Basic computer, point-of-sale, and cash-handling skills preferred.
• Wine knowledge preferred; willingness to learn required.
Physical Requirements
· Regularly required to stand, stoop, bend, reach, lift, carry, kneel, and repetitive motion from stocking shelves or assembling orders.
· Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds; occasionally lifts to 75 pounds.
· Works indoors/outdoors in varying weather conditions, including sun, rain, heat, and cold.
· Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, equipment, fumes, or airborne particles.
· Noise levels are typically moderate to loud.
· May require long hours during peak summer months; slower winter months may have reduced hours (typically mid-November through February).

Work Environment
· Interaction with guests, employees, and other personnel.
· Work involves participation in event setup/cleanup, maintenance projects, and heavy physical labor.
· Fast-paced, particularly during shipping/receiving periods- seasonal, and high visitor days.
· Requires standing for extended periods, repetitive motion (lifting and stocking), and sense of urgency.
This is a part-time, non-exempt, variable-hour position. The base pays ranges from $22.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on individual sales performance and experience. In addition to hourly pay, this position is eligible to participate tip (where applicable) and may be eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities in accordance with company policies and applicable plan terms. This is a permanent position.
