Pahlmeyer, a family owned winery in Napa Valley, is searching for a Harvest Enologist to join our team for the 2018 vintage.

The Pahlmeyer Harvest Enologist will provide hands-on support to our full-time Enologist, to complete all lab analysis, fermentation tracking, and interface with the cellar team. Principal among the Harvest Enologist’s responsibilities will be: sampling at fruit reception, primary and secondary fermentation monitoring, nutrient additions, chemical analysis using various lab equipment, data collection, interpretation and communication of analysis results and database management.
The Harvest Enologist will begin in August. In addition to harvest, this position will get exposure to bottling and barrel aging wines.
Key among the requirements will be: first and foremost, an exceptional positive attitude, as well as a rigorous work ethic, great attention to detail, excellent communication skills and a desire to learn.
Experience Requirements:
• Degree in Enology/Viticulture, or similar field.
• Minimum 3 years of combined cellar and lab experience.
Physical Requirements:
• Demonstrated ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly.
• Demonstrated ability to work extended hours, including 6-7 days per week.
• Demonstrated ability to work on feet for extended hours, in a cellar environment.
• Ability to sit, stand, squat, and climb ladders.
