Company Description: Established in early 2013, Meridian Prime is a New York based importer specializing in South African wines. Our wines are selected for their prime quality, great value and unique histories.
As Meridian Prime expands, we are growing our sales team within New York State. Meridian Prime has been successful through our values of integrity, focus on consumer education and customer service, and building partnerships with both on and off premise customers and suppliers. Meridian Prime has its own distribution operation and partnerships with other out of state distributors around the country.
Position Overview: A Sales Representative, reporting directly to the CEO, in New York state focusing on a defined coverage within close travel distance from their home and with potential to expand geographic coverage.
Responsibilities:
• Grow existing account base (on and off premise) by visiting existing and potential accounts at least four full days a week.
• Be physically able to lift 40 pounds.
• Manage administrative duties with accounts such as, but not limited to, order entry, stock level reviews and payment collections.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate is passionate and knowledgeable about wine, has experience selling alcohol and has strong relationships with local on and off premise accounts. The candidate must be well organized, possesses strong wine sales skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, is above all else honest and professional. Candidates that embody an entrepreneurial spirit will thrive in this role. Preference will be given to candidates with previous wine sales experience and an existing book of accounts; however, these are not required.
Ultimately, we are looking for someone who will be an ambassador for Meridian Prime and the South African wine category and can grow along with us as an integral part of the team. Compensation and Benefits: Starting compensation will be a competitive commission-only rate on collected sales revenue, with an opportunity for a base and commission restructure with medical benefits commensurate with sales performance. Meridian Prime offers a flexible work environment.
