Wine Team Member (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Locke Store is looking for an enthusiastic wine associate to help grow our expanding wine department. Located in historic Millwood, VA, Locke Store offers an incredible world-class selection of the most interesting international libations. We represent many sustainable, organic, and biodynamic producers, and our selection reflects a commitment to providing superior wine and beer for exceptional value. Key Responsibilities Include:

• Physically receiving all wine deliveries and corresponding invoices
• Monitoring wine stock in the retail space and labeling new wines appropriately
• Maintaining back stock of wine for the restaurant
• Preparing weekly wine orders and directly communicating with customers when the wine is in-stock
• Going above and beyond to provide wine customers with an A+ customer service experience 
• Assisting as needed with special wine events, including wine tastings and monthly wine dinners
• Organizing wine club pick-ups
• Performing other relevant duties and responsibilities as required or requested

Key Requirements Include:

• Weekend availability 
• 1-2 years relevant wine and/or hospitality experience strongly preferred
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Outgoing and customer service oriented personality
• Strong organizational, leadership, decision making, and conflict resolution skills
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
