Overview:
The Golden Goose Specialty Foods Market in Boston, MA (North End) is currently searching for a qualified person to work in the beer and wine department. This position is a customer service oriented position with the added responsibility of inventory maintenance. Candidates must possess a positive attitude towards customer service and harbor a strong personal interest in wine and craft beer. Please note that it is not necessary for candidates to have extensive pre-existing wine/beer knowledge. Salesmanship, service skills, work ethic, and attitude are more important. However, special consideration will be given to those candidates that harbor the strongest academic foundation in wine and craft beer. Candidates should also be aware that this job is physical in nature and therefore requires a certain level of physical fitness.
Job Specifications:
• Must be 21 years old
• Recommend and sell wines, craft beer, and spirits to customers
• Maintain proper inventory levels on the sales floor
• Promote, setup, and administer in store wine/beer tastings
• Maintain serving equipment
• Maintain the appearance and salability of the department when the Manager is off-duty
• Must have outstanding customer service skills and be a team player
• Must possess persuasive written communication skills
• Must have availability to work nights until 10pm
• Must be physically able to walk without assistance on various surfaces (including stairs) for extended periods of time
• Ability to repetitively lift objects weighing up to 45 lbs
• Ability to repetitively carry objects weighing up to 45 lbs while bending, twisting, crouching, and climbing/descending stairs.
• Ability to work in temperatures as low as 28 degrees
• Ability to follow company dress codes and maintain professional appearance at all times
• Have Positive attitude, be self motivated, polite, energetic and be a willing learner
Rate of pay determined by experience.
Position is for full time employment.
