Pricing Analyst (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

The Pricing Analyst will be accountable for assisting in the development and implementation of pricing strategies, assessing competitive intelligence, designing and executing pricing tests, analyzing changes in margin and sales due to pricing changes, and coordinating across Market Management, Merchandising, Marketing, and Store Operations to ensure pricing strategies align with company goals. As this role involves interaction with departments across the company, this is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter and a team player to learn about many aspects of our unique business and impact profitability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with Market Management, Buying and Market Intelligence teams to gain an
  in-depth understanding of market level pricing strategies, legalities and the
  competitive landscape
• Assist in developing and reviewing pricing strategies and business rules for assigned
  markets
• Review and execute recommended retails daily including initial retails
• Resolve all day to day pricing issues and identify root cause in assigned markets
• Analyze effectiveness of pricing actions on a weekly basis
• Assist with competitive analysis ensuring that all competitive pricing issues are
  identified, evaluated and decisions are made on a timely basis
• Perform daily reviews of all advertised prices by targeted competitors in assigned
  markets
• Assist in execution and measurement of various pricing tests
• Work with other departments to determine the items to be advertised by market and the
  retail pricing of those items
• Additional ad hoc projects as assigned

Minimum Experience, Skills and Education:

Preferred Experience, Skills and Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Marketing, Finance, Business/Management or Mathematics
• 1 to 3 years as an analyst in a mid to large retailer or experience as an analyst in the alcohol beverage industry
• Advanced Microsoft Office Skills, specifically Excel (including VBA)
• Experience with SQL and/or Access
• Experience with designing experiments and A/B testing
• Retail/consumer products industry experience is a plus
• Effective communication skills with ability to work effectively with all levels in a collaborative manner
• Able to think outside the lines, but also capable of supporting ideas with a rigorous fact-based approach to decision makings
• Capability of synthesizing data from diverse sources into actionable recommendations
• Strong quantitative approach to problem solving using data driven analysis
• Strong attention to detail in producing deliverables, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
