Job Description for Part-Time Cellar Associate

 Company Overview:  Eastside Wine Storage (EWS) provides superior wine storage services, customer service, facilities and logistics to wine collectors in and around the Eastside, greater Seattle area and beyond.  Our “sister” cellar is Willamette Wine Storage located in Portland, OR.

Position Summary:  The EWS Cellar Associate is responsible for effective part-time management of the day to day operations of the cellar, directly reporting to the board of managers.  The Cellar Associate will be scheduled to be on-site for a portion of regular business hours, Wednesday thru Saturday, 11:30am to 6:30pm, with additional flexible hours some evenings and closed days.

Position Duties & Responsibilities Include:

·         Respond to all client inquiries from inception to completion of the locker rental process, which includes new client contracts, contract renewals and invoicing / payment processing.

·         Respond to client service requests with speed, accuracy and professionalism.

·         The ability to effectively handle and prioritize multiple responsibilities at one time.

·         Must be reliable and consider promptness for opening EWS a priority.

·         Participate in local wine pick-ups and deliveries as needed.

·         Remain open to new responsibilities as the business grows.

·         Warehouse Responsibilities Include:

o   Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the cellar including tasting rooms, bathrooms and storage rooms.

o   Follow through on the daily, weekly and monthly task checklists.

o   Perform shipping of wine for clientele per EWS guidelines.

o   Monitor and track cellar temperatures & humidity.

o   Transfer all deliveries to the appropriate lockers and email clients with accuracy.

o   Maintain the shipping and standard wine box area for orderly storage and cleanliness.

o   Regular communication with management regarding needed maintenance & repairs.

o   Manage the garbage and recycling programs for the cellar.

o   Notify management regarding supply and inventory needs.

o   Effectively track and monitor the EWS holding lockers.

o   Use and knowledge of hand tools for racking assembly and installation.

o   Construction background in framing preferred, but not required.

 

·         Office Responsibilities Include:

o   Maintain the highest level of customer service and professionalism throughout all communications, including phone and email correspondence.

o   Use of CellarTracker.com for on-going inventory of client and EWS wine.

o   Knowledge and use of the business software for client tracking, including invoicing and payment processing.

o   Maintain and update the client combination spreadsheet on a weekly basis.

o   Oversee daily security including the use and understanding of the business security software and video surveillance systems.

Qualifications Include:

·         A minimum of 3-years experience in the wine industry is preferred.

·         Bachelor’s degree preferred.

·         Experience communicating and working with individuals from differing backgrounds.

·         A natural affinity for impeccable organization and attention to detail.

·         Strong oral and written communication skills.

·         The ability to lift 40-45 lb. cases of wine properly and with regular frequency.

·         A strong technological proficiency; including Microsoft Office / Outlook, QuickBooks and CellarTracker.com

·         Genuinely enjoy pitching in to get the job done and be a “team” player in all circumstances.

Compensation & Benefit Details:

·         Starting pay $20 per hour with increases DOE.

·         Average 5 - 10 hours per week depending on season and vacation schedule of manager.
