ThornCreek Winery in Aurora, OH is looking for a General Manager to run and operate our growing and expanding business. Our ideal candidate is attentive, energetic, detail oriented, ambitious, customer focused and hardworking. Five years handling food and beverage service and special events required.
Responsibilities
· Manage the overall operation of ThornCreek Winery and Gardens through established cost and quality standards, maximizing profits, developing and retaining employees and exceeding guest expectations.
· Manage all human resource functions of ThornCreek Winery and Gardens.
· Ensure facility and gardens are cleaned and prepared for daily operation.
· Ensure that ThornCreek Winery and Gardens is in compliance with all federal, state and local laws.
· Be present each day the winery is open with a shift through the rush.
· Work with our exclusive caterer A Taste of Excellence on all items related to the kitchen.
· Manage the ordering of all cleaning supplies for Kitchen, tasting room, bathroom and general facility.
· Manage the inventory of all wine and liquor. This should be done each day and the reconciliation between the POS system and physical count should be accomplished. Weekly inventory report must be brought to the weekly Wednesday staff meeting.
· Work with the Winemaker on needs of the business, staffing for bottling and ordering appropriate supplies.
· Work with Sales Director to create, market and manage all ThornCreek run Special Events.
· Work with Sales Director to manage all client related Special Events.
· Review schedule to ensure proper scheduling for events.
· Be on-site to oversee private events to ensure that customers’ experience at ThornCreek exceeds their expectation.
· Ensure all bills are paid on time and that the checks are coded to the ThornCreek chart of accounts so that the coding by the bookkeeper is accurate.
