Wine and Spirit Warehouse Manager (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

The Wine and Spirit Warehouse Manager is responsible for effectively and efficiently planning, organizing, and monitoring the receiving, storage, and distribution of all Anheuser-Busch and other supplier products to ensure a smooth and consistent operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Accurately conducts daily inventory of products in accordance with established company guidelines.
  2. Accurately verifies all shipments received from suppliers.
  3. Correctly prepares and/or coordinates preparation of bill of lading for items returned to the suppliers to ensure proper credit.
  4. Coordinates activities of warehouse with activities of sales and inventory programming to ensure optimum delivery and availability of product.
  5. Ensures proper rotation of all product inventory in accordance with established company guidelines.  
  6. Directs salvage of damaged or out of date product.
  7. Establishes useful operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing product deliveries and returns.
  8. Develops cost effective budget and monitors expenditures.
  9. Plans and develops meaningful policies and procedures for carrying out warehouse operations.
  10. Meets with supervisors to discuss progress of work, resolve problems, and ensure that standards for quality and quantity of work are met.
  11. Always maintains C. E. W. temperature at Anheuser Busch standards and maintains accurate records to verify compliance.
  12. Complies with all Anheuser-Busch and supplier /requirements regarding product handling, or exchange.
  13. Adjust hours of work, priorities, and staff assignments to ensure efficient operation, based on workload.
  14. Inspects warehouse facility and make recommendations for changes in allocation of space and/or replacement of equipment to ensure optimum efficiency.
  15. Responsible for the overall supervision, training/development, motivation, coordination, and evaluation of the warehouse employees.
  16. Effectively works closely with Human Resources regarding employee and company issues with a high level of confidentiality.
  17. Demonstrate effective communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications/skills

  1. High School Diploma required, Bachelor's Degree preferred; relevant work experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  2. Three years managerial experience preferably in a distribution warehouse. 
  3. Technical and problem solving skills.
  4. General working knowledge of computers.
  5. Strong leadership skills with an ability to motivate and lead by example.
  6. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or regulations.
