Summary -
Sells fine wine, beer and non-alcoholic products to supermarkets, drug stores, convenience stores and package stores for wholesale distributor by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Learns and executes the seven basics of Empire: distributions, position, display, pricing, point-of-sale, cold box, and rotation in each account.
- Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads.
- Travels through assigned territory daily to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, present items for distribution, and handle damages and off-condition product.
- Quotes prices and credit terms for orders obtained.
- Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
- Confers with District Manager to resolve customer problems.
- Position requires building of displays as well as maintenance of the displays. Coldbox and shelf maintenance is also a requirement of the position.
- Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
- Identifies and respond to customers' needs.
- Maintains frequent and open communication with drivers, driver supervisors, district managers, sales managers and the general manager.
- Prepares and/or maintains distribution tracking reports, planning and goals, case quotas and dollar objectives and other administrative tasks as assigned.
- Executes sales plans and maintain accounts according to company standards.
- Tracks progress of goals on a weekly basis.
- Participates in supplier work-withs.
- Continually maintains training and product knowledge.
- Delivers emergency orders when needed.
- Attends trade show.
- Conducts business according to local and state laws.
- Other duties as assigned by District Manager.
Education and/or Experience -
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations -
Must have the ability to sustain a current and valid Alcohol Sales Permit from the Georgia Department of Revenue. Must maintain valid drivers license.
Computer skills -
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Order processing systems. (Excel & Word)
