This position is part-time and requires mainly weekend availability (Friday evening through Sunday).
Job Description:
-Greet and tend to guests
-Conduct wine and beer tastings
-Acquire and maintain knowledge of Von Jakob and our products
-Describe wines, beers, and the history of Von Jakob
-Handle routine sales transactions and serve guests food, wine and beer
-Provide general tourist information
-Create a memorable experience for our guests
-Assist with display and stocking of wine, beer, and retail items
-Assist in maintaining cleanliness of facilities
-Some winery/brewery specific work- labeling, bottling, etc.
-Assist with dinners and special events as a server/bartender
-Perform other duties as assigned by the manager
Job Qualifications:
-Excellent customer service skills
-Excellent oral communication skills
-Knowledge of wine and beer
-Outgoing and friendly personality
-Professional appearance and demeanor
-Respectful and works well with others
-Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
-Proficient on the computer (familiar with POS systems)
-Strong time management and multitasking skills
-Calm and personable under pressure
-Wine and/or beer related experience a plus
-Sales experience a plus
-Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
Mandatory Requirements:
-Must be at least 21 years of age
-Must be able to lift/carry a 35-40 lb/ case of wine on a regular basis
-Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods as required by job duties
