Role Description

The employee will work in Off-Premise accounts in conjunction with both the Wine & Spirits, Delivery & Operations Team under the supervision of the Wine & Spirits Area Sales Manager. This role is tasked with selling company products to licensed retail accounts, as well as perform activities such as stocking shelves, posting signage, building displays, delivery of products and invoice payment collection (if applicable), maintaining positive customer relations, caring for and maintaining of company equipment and communicating market trends regarding competitive sales information. Portfolio tastings, staff trainings, sales presentations, and special events are also required.

The candidate must work in a professional and thorough manner under general supervision as a member of the sales team and accepts accountability for personal performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales and distribution goals as defined in the monthly sales plan and KPI guidelines.
  • Ensures all sales practices are in accordance with regulations and rules as defined by the state and federal governing bodies regarding the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages.
  • Maintains consistent and open communication with all accounts regarding product availability and pricing.
  • Manage time effectively to cover daily demands and the designated itinerary.
  • Conduct general account maintenance including, but not limited to, stocking shelves, assisting with delivery of products, merchandising, backstock organization, and store resets.
  • Design and post permanent POS and support LDF POS standards.
  • Build merchandise displays and cross merchandise with related products.
  • Maintain high customer service standards with professional demeanor.
  • Uphold LDF Company policies, procedures, and controls as stated in the Employee Handbook and other company documents.
  • Operates company vehicle according to Fleet Safety Manual, including accident policy, routine vehicle maintenance, and upkeep.
  • Participate in LDF Company and Wine & Spirits Team meetings and events.
  • Perform such other duties as deemed necessary by the KS Leadership Team.

Qualifications

Completion of necessary training program. Basic word processing, spreadsheet, email, research, and computer skills are required. Understand basic office functions and decorum. Possess in-depth knowledge of company products, policies, procedures, and operations. Have knowledge of state and federal laws regarding the distribution and sale of alcohol. Possess hygiene consistent with maintaining good customer relations and professionalism. Must be at least 21 years of age before application is submitted.

Education/Experience

Minimum college degree or equivalent. Knowledge of wine, spirits, beer, and sales training strongly preferred.

Professional Abilities

Interpersonal skills to communicate with customers effectively and in a professional manner, including strategic sales techniques. Have the capability of effectively communicating with management and team members regarding changes and requests in retail accounts and related retail product display issues.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure including whole numbers, common fractions and decimals, as well as knowledge of trade math to include margin and profitability calculations.

Employee must possess the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out specific written or oral instructions and to resolve customer service problems. Position requires comprehensive decision-making ability.

Certificates and Licenses

Valid drivers’ license required.

Work Environment

Individual is expected to work a fulltime schedule, ranging from 7:00am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday, with some deviation as dictated by business needs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely exposed to weather conditions and sudden changes in temperature.
