WHAT YOU’LL DO


In collaboration with the Director of Operations, the Store Manager is responsible to lead the store team with a positive, lead-by-example demeanor. They will be expected to operate using independent judgement. This role assumes overall responsibility for quality of service from the front of house team in addition to quality and consistency of food and beverage from front and back of house team. The Store Manager has oversight responsibilities for shift leads, cashiers, food runners, baristas, and back of house staff members. Responsibilities will vary in volume and complexity based on individual store size (small, medium, large), menu (breakfast, lunch, evening) and sales volume (low, medium, high).


Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and oversee all functions of Southside operations for assigned store sales volume.

  • Deliver superior service, maximize customer satisfaction, and maintain Company standards.

  • Provide guidance and actively lead by example for the team, ensuring that all standard operating procedures and cleanliness standards are maintained and followed.

  • Work with the Director of Operations and Ownership to monitor store financial performance, manage operational costs, control budgeted expenses, and identify measures to cut waste.

  • Respond efficiently and accurately to customer feedback.

  • Work in conjunction with other Store Managers to coordinate staff scheduling for all cafes; organize schedule and supervise shifts, including staff breaks.

  • Train new and current employees on service standards.

  • Communicate job expectations to staff and enforce Company policies and procedures.

  • Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity.

  • Inventory stock levels and order supplies to maintain par levels.

  • Manage incoming shipments and storage areas by keeping them labeled, organized and maintained.

  • Complete management administration and paperwork in a timely manner, including POS system, time entries, transfers, and invoices.

  • Count cash and balance register; prepares deposits according to procedure.

  • Determine and implement system improvements.

  • Keep up-to-date knowledge of all Southside food and drink preparations and regularly review product quality.

  • Assist with execution of menu changes and specials.

  • Maintain overall cleanliness and upkeep of the cafe interior and exterior spaces.

WHAT IS REQUIRED

 

  • 2+ years managerial restaurant experience preferred

  • 3+ years high volume restaurant experience preferred 

  • Must have own transportation and ability to work in all Southside locations if and when needed

  • Current ServSafe Food Manager certificate or equivalent (or must obtain within 30 days of hire date)

  • Current TIPS certificate or equivalent (or must obtain within 30 days of hire date)

  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, Excel, Google Sheets, Google Doc, restaurant management software, POS)

  • Professional presence representing both the Company brand and self.
