Harvest Intern (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

Premium winery in Woodinville, WA looking for experienced, hardworking Interns to join the cellar team for the 2016 harvest. This work term is between the months of August and November, but may lead to a permanent part-position based on performance and work availability.

Responsibilities:
This individual will be able to conduct the following tasks:

•  Assist in receiving/processing of all fruit:
o Weigh bins and record total weight for yield/addition determination
o Work with volunteers to remove all MOG and compromised fruit on the sorting tables
o Calculate and monitor addition of all processing aids used
o Transport all fermenters via forklift as needed to create processing room
o Sanitize all processing equipment/organize and clean cellar
•  Work with AW to monitor fermentation kinetics, cap management and pressing of must
•  Treatment/conditioning, filling, emptying, cleaning and transport of barrels
•  Assist in pre-bottling treatments and bottling of all wines

Practical qualifications:

•  Post-secondary education in fermentation science, or related field encouraged, but not necessary
•  At least 2 vintages experience
•  Lab experience not necessary, but encouraged 
•  Experience with operating all equipment pertaining to fruit processing
•  Displays an understanding of workplace safety as it pertains to food production

•  Detail oriented, organized 
•  Ability to work long hours without supervision
•  Ability to work well under pressure
•  Ability to follow verbal and/or written instruction
