Job Description for Sales Manager/Assistant to the General Manager
32 – 40 hours per week
4-5 days per week, weekends required
At least 3 days at the Winery in Wishram, WA. Remainder of days can be at Hood River Tasting Room.
Cascade Cliffs is looking for a dynamic individual to increase sales, new wine club memberships and retention. Must be career minded and interested in long term employment.
Description:
Work as Tasting Room Host in both Wishram and Hood River. During slow times you will be the only one on staff and you must be able to multitask between sales management duties and attending to customers as they arrive. During the busier summer months and weekends there will be back up staff allowing you to primarily focus on management and marketing duties.
Work with General Manager to train tasting room staff in order to increase sales and the quality of the experience for the guests. Scheduling of staff will also be required.
Assist General Manager with development of all printed and electronic promotional materials, including editing website.
Correspond with customers and wine club members daily via e-mail/telephone and respond to their requests as needed which will include processing and packing orders for shipping.
Assist GM with organizing and planning all wine club events including food & entertainment. Attend wine club events and be the point contact person with club members.
Leadership & Supervision
Train, motivate and direct staff in a team-oriented style that places the highest priority on customer service that is consistent, responsive, knowledgeable and professional.
Ensure all hospitality staff maintains the highest levels of efficiency, accuracy and successful attainment of the team’s and company’s business goals.
Professional Requirements
Requires experience in sales and management, preferably in the wine industry. Extremely high level of organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to multi-task and manage a project start to finish. Ability to work in a small office environment with a willingness to help wherever help is needed. Exceptional computer skills and a positive can-do attitude. Excellent ability to lead and inspire a team to work well together, and achieve goals. Strong wine knowledge, and knowledge of consumer-direct principles and compliance.
Qualifications
•Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
•Exceptional people skills – natural ability to effectively communicate with others
•Possesses problem solving skills and the ability to defuse potentially problematic situations.
• A strong working knowledge of effective e-mail marketing strategies.
• Ability to work during normally scheduled hours and evening/weekend events.
• Strong computer aptitude with experience with Word, Excel, Access and Quick Books.
• Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time, and lift 45 lbs.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Ability to work in HTML code is a big plus.
• Must possess an OLCC and WA State Alcohol Server’s card, a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
