A temporary position from June 1 through October 2013, but can become a permanent Assistant Winemaker position for a candidate demonstrating skill, drive, initiative, attention to detail, a desire to continue learning the craft of viticulture and winemaking, and the ability to work well with a team.
Qualifications: College degree with a specialization in viticulture or oenology preferred. Some experience desirable.
Dragoon Mountain Vineyard is near Willcox, SE of Tucson, Arizona, the heart of Arizona’s rapidly developing viticulture industry. We are a fully integrated vine & wine producer and bottler with over 130 acres of yielding vines, and production of 8000 cases of wine. Progressive management of warm climate viticulture and cutting edge winemaking with 64 varietals allowing for diversifying the successful applicant’s growing and winemaking knowledge.
The initial role will provide hands-on pre-harvest vine management, harvest and winemaking opportunities with mechanical harvest equipment, state of the art wine machinery, and experimentation in innovative industry practices. Outstanding execution can lead to a permanent position offer with a growing Arizona wine industry leader, including sales and management opportunities with our 3rd tasting room to open in Willcox within a year.
