Cellar Master (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

Pacific Rim & Company a leading producer of Washington wines located in West Richland, WA is looking to hire a new addition to our crew. This position will primarily support the winery through the management and supervision of the cellar activities and crew. Pacific Rim Winemakers will produce over 300,000 cases of wine with a small fanatical crew. The ideal candidate will have five or more years of experience working in a wine cellar with progressive responsibility up to and including supervisory responsibilities. There will be extensive overtime during harvest – up to 12 hrs / day - 6 days / week.

Duties & Responsibilities
1. Cellar Management (75+%)
•  Ensure cellar / harvest crew works in a safe and efficient manner.
•  Responsible for the training the cellar crew on operating and safety procedures.
•  Responsible for the daily supervision of the cellar including;
o Organizing daily cellar work
o Daily cleaning & maintenance of the cellar & equipment
o Assigning work load and ensure employee cross training
o Repair & Maintain equipment as needed
o Assurance to safety standards 
o Assurance to lock out / tag out procedures during repairs
o Hold regular safety meetings
•  Perform daily Cellar paperwork including;
o Reviewing & submitting timecards
o Issue WO’s to cellar staff as needed.
•  Facility Maintenance
o Develop maintenance schedule for winery facilities
o Maintain and repair equipment as needed
o Supervise employee designated to support maintenance activities
•  Safety
o Act as the winery safety coordinator
o Maintain the winery safety manual
o Lead monthly safety meetings
•  Order cellar supplies such as SO2 & cleaning supplies 
•  Maintains MSDS sheets on file for all chemicals used in the cellar.
•  Work with bottling operations to develop and implement the bottling schedule.
•  Develop and maintain cellar manual of SOP’s.

2. Harvest Operations (~25%)
•  Supervise harvest crew & temps
•  Manage harvest workflows 
•  Assign work to crews
•  Operate wine press as needed
•  Operate grape dump hoist as needed

Qualifications
•  Five+ years cellar experience.
•  Two+ years supervisory experience.
•  Operating knowledge of cellar equipment.
•  Extensive knowledge of wine making processes.
•  Experience maintaining cellar equipment.
•  Ability to lift 50 lbs.
•  Ability to work extensive overtime during harvest
