Senior Event Manager (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

District Winery is seeking a Senior Event Manager to coordinate and execute weddings, social events, corporate events, fundraisers, and more. The Senior Event Manager will ensure client management and the events themselves run smoothly and efficiently, following the sales process and through each event's completion. This position requires a calm demeanor during high paced and intense situations, attentiveness to all aspects of an event, and the ability to easily communicate and manage a large team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and implement event execution procedures as per Co-Founders' vision and standards
  • Act as main point of contact for private event clients immediately following booking, throughout planning process and through the event. 
  • Manage client relationship and respond quickly and efficiently to client questions and concerns via email and phone; Anticipate potential client questions, issues and conflicts and proactively troubleshoot
  • Oversee event schedule from a high level, ensuring adherence to all deadlines including but not limited to: walk-through schedule, menu selections, vendor introductions, tasting schedule, etc.
  • Manage hiring, staff performance, and termination process for event service staff
  • Proactively engage with guests to ensure a positive experience 
  • Manage event staff, setup and breakdown of the space for events
  • Interface with back of house staff to ensure proper delivery & coordination of food service
  • Manage all event forms, seating charts, and other administrative documents for events 
  • Liaise with external vendors leading up to and throughout the event
  • Help train staff on their food and wine knowledge

Who We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Management, Communications, or related degree from an accredited university
  • 5+ years of experience in event and/or catering management
  • Must have a passion for weddings and be able to manage multiple weddings in a weekend
  • Flexible schedule with weekends and nights available
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and outgoing
  • Ability to establish productive relationships with people at all levels
  • A positive and adaptable approach to problem solving
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment 
  • Must demonstrate proficient knowledge and use of computer and basic programs (e.g., Google Suite including Google Docs & Spreadsheets)
  • Detail oriented and exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment, competently handling demanding deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with clients; must demonstrate professional phone and business etiquette
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of and appreciation of wine strongly preferred
