Position Summary:
The Director will work with the Sales, mktg and finance teams leading our strategic thinking about how we drive sustainable value by optimizing the pricing of our brands in regards to: Development of pricing strategies, roll out best in class processes and practices, Support commercial organization in making commercial pricing decisions, Identify ways in which pricing and strategies can deliver value to PR, Roll out of new tools to HQ and field to support price planning and analysis.
Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
Strategy (30% of time)

Work closely with brand teams in the development of price strategies for all products by market to improve profitability

Leverage analysis to set suggested consumer pricing relative to other brands and packs
-
Support the design of promotional guardrails - everyday v. promotional price and identifying strategic promotional levers (depth, frequency, duration)

Develop guidance on optimal consumer pricing across state channels/customers

Incorporate pricing output on price elasticity studies to continue to shape and support new state specific price strategy for key brands.
Insights (30% of time)

Support the development of scorecards to manage & communicate Monthly Brand Insights Price Mix etc

Works closely with Innovation and Marketing teams to design best in class pricing strategy and innovation item pricing

Works with DFDs, Divisional Finance and Pricing Managers team on 2x year price reviews and opportunities

Identify areas for revenue and margin improvement by analyzing sales and other data as necessary
Price Execution Management and Reporting (40% of time)

Work with Finance teams to build and aggregate annual price-mix plan and targets

Manage the roll out of new tools and processes - Vistaar platform, VIP, E1 integration

Manage vendor relationships

Works with IT in developing new tools / reports for pricing compliance

Work with Business Solutions team on Driver to ensure accurate reporting of pricing compliance and KPIs

Works with Sales and Finance in the authorization/implementation of the VIP invoice level data

Push pricing training thru the organization

Influence pricing compliance in the divisions

Requirements:
Education: MBA Required
Experience/Background:
-
7+ years of previous work experience in the CPG industry with an emphasis in market research and/or trade/price analysis.

5+ years' experience directing pricing teams required

Strategic thinker and problem solver who has the ability to apply analytic solutions to business problems

Understanding of, and preferably experience with, original pricing research techniques elasticity, Price structure creation, conjoint analysis, and similar techniques

Experience with syndicated data – Nielsen
-
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence across multiple teams- marketing, sales executives, senior management etc

Strong written and oral presentation skills
Working Conditions:
General Office: Work is performed in a typical office environment. Limited demands for movement and lifting. Normal visual, hearing and language acuity required for correspondence and computer usage.
Travel: Frequent
Estimate: 20% of time
