Position Title: Analyst BPA, New Brand Ventures
Position Location: New York, NY (Headquarters)
Position Summary:
This position has responsibility for assisting the Manager, Finance & Analysis in managing the P&L, tracking & analyzing performance, managing the A&P budget, and supporting the yearly planning process. This position will also assist in tracking and compiling market performance data and provide Brand Leaders with analytics to support Stage Gate and annual reviews. Additionally, the position will assist the VP, Business Development in ad hoc analyses.
This role sits within our newly created New Brand Ventures team, which is a division of Pernod Ricard USA focused on cultivating brands that will drive the company's future growth. NBV is responsible for the sales and marketing of Plymouth Gin, Aberlour Single Malt, Lot 40 Canadian Rye Whiskey, Terremoto Tequila, Lillet and Monkey 47 Gin and will continue to expand through acquisitions, partnerships and the development of new or global Pernod Ricard brands.
Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
- Support the NBV team through financial reporting & analysis, including monthly analysis of actual results versus budget (30% of time)
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, Stage Gate reviews, and other management presentations (25% of time)
- Assist in the analysis of brand profitability and highlighting of potential risks and opportunities; tracking of trends to forecast brand performance (20% of time)
- Ad hoc reports & analyses as required (25% of time)
Nature & Scope:
This position will interact directly with the VP of Business Development, the Manager of Finance & Analysis, Sales Managers and Brand Leaders.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting
Experience / Background: Minimum 1-3 years in accounting or financial analysis /planning experience. Brand planning /profitability analysis a plus. Understanding of P&L preparation and analysis of variances.
