Advertising Manager (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

 A local winery in on the southern end of Seneca Lake is seeking an experienced and creative advertising director.  The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in the wine industry, preferably in an advertising/marketing role.   

 

Job Responsibilities:

·   Oversee all print and digital advertising outlets

• Build and maintain working relationships with internal and external partners

• Represent the winery at trade shows and other promotional events (on and off site)

• Represent the company brand professionally, graciously and enthusiastically

• Participate in monthly strategic planning process, including product understanding, sales forecasts,     pricing and position

• Assist in the development of brand marketing programs and initiatives to deliver against the brand’s annual volume and profit targets; ex: promotions, public relations, package development, interactive advertising and maintaining social media

• Manage all aspect of brand promotions in terms of sales, creative services and outside vendors as applicable, to help achieve brand goals

• Manage brand’s marketing dollars and budget

• Conduct ongoing market research

• Manage consumer communication including PR efforts, online marketing initiatives including social media, event listings, search engine optimization and other online marketing opportunities to promote business growth

• Work closely with key personnel to provide marketing support, promotions and initiatives

• Nurture community relationships by attending events like Business After Hours and other networking opportunities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Hospitality, or equivalent is preferred

• Experience with coordinating both large and small special events

• Proven leadership, management and general business acumen

• Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills demonstrated by the ability to make timely and sound decisions

• Ability to focus on multiple tasks and deadlines and effectively prioritize and manage them

• Creative, flexible and innovative team player with the ability to openly communicate with owners/management in a professional manner

• Self-motivated, passionate, enthusiastic, focused, creative and positive

• Excellent customer service skills

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Excellent graphic design skills

• Skilled in drawing insights through customer research data and trend information

• Strong attention to detail

• Must be able to multi-task and abide by deadlines

• Creative listening and critical thinking skills in a potential high-stress environment

• Strong analytical and strategic skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and proficiency in design software like the Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop or Light Room preferred

• Ability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all level of employees

in a team-oriented environment

• Other critical skills include planning & organizing; problem identification/resolution, multi-tasking,

follow-through skills to bring tasks to closure in a timely manner, priority setting and having a

sense of urgency in accomplishing tasks in a timely manner

• Must be available and willing to work occasional weekends

• Must be willing to travel on behalf of the company (a few overnights are required)

• Ability to stand on one’s feet for extended periods of time

• Must be able to lift and move 40 lbs.

• Must have a valid driver’s license
