Position:

Part-Time Tasting Room Sales and Customer Service: This hourly position requires 1-3 days of availability per week (weekend availability required), and additional time requirements for quarterly special events. This position becomes available in May/June at Vino Noceto Winery, located 40 miles due east of Sacramento in the Shenandoah Valley of Amador County, CA.  

Summary:  

The Customer Service Specialist is responsible for the sale of wine, non-wine products, and wine club memberships in our tasting room, and for providing basic support to various sales & marketing functions. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional customer service skills, an enthusiasm for wine and the ability to engage and entertain diverse audiences in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience with Point-of-Sale software, website content management, and/or Microsoft Office is strongly preferred. 

Responsibilities:

• Provide an informative, entertaining wine tasting experience
  • Promptly and warmly greet all tasting room guests;
  • Suggest and sell wines and wine club memberships;
  • Provide food-pairing recommendations and general tourism information;
  • Describe wines, winemaking and vineyard management practices, winery story and philosophy, and history of local viticulture;
• Handle routine transactions using Point-of-Sale software (Microsoft RMS)
  • Enforce discounting and wine club practices;
  • Complete opening and closing procedures (cash drawer reconciliation, etc);
  • Standard sales processing -- including voids & returns;
• Tasting room upkeep
  • Assist with retail merchandise & wine displays;
  • Manage and maintain food and supplies stock;
  • Keep a clean and organized retail environment;
• Performance of other duties & functions, as assigned;
  • Represent winery at outside events;
  • Assist on-site special event planning, setup and execution;

Requirements and Qualifications:

· Able to lift and carry 50 pounds or more;

· Must be at least 21 years or older;

· Previous restaurant, tasting room, or wine experience required;

· Enthusiasm for wine;

· Mastery of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Powerpoint) required;

· Previous experience with Retail Point-of-Sale Software, Customer/Order Management Software preferred;

· Strong verbal and written communication skills;

· Flexible, team player, able to multi-task and willing to "go the extra mile"
