Entry Level Sales Assistant at Family Owned Winery
(Wine Jobs:
Sales & Marketing)
Full Time
United States,
California
We are a small, high end, family owned and operated winery looking for someone to help in wine sales.
Ideally, we’d like a month trial period during which you'd learn how we like to do things. Our tours are private and by appointment only. We generally spend 1-1.5 hours with each guest.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to accept administrative tasks such as club phone calls, shipments, maintaining an organized office, and maintaining spreadsheets. Part of working in a small winery is jumping in for additional tasks like bottling, helping at events, helping with harvest, buffing glasses, and more.
We would prefer part time to start, with the possibility of quick advancement to a full time, long term position. While there may be periodic incentives for reaching goals as a team, the position is not commission based.
Qualifications:
It is critical to enthusiastically sell the brand, making clients feel as if they are a part of the family.
You'll need to be *very* comfortable on the phone.
Must be willing to learn and respond well to direction.
Must be a proficient writer and able to manage emails.
Must be organized and able to stay on top of responsibilities but willing to ask for help when you need it.
Must be a good driver with a clean drivers record.
Must be able to repeatedly lift cases of wine (just under 50 pounds).
Must be flexible with working weekends or evenings.
Interest in attending after work industry gatherings and hospitality networking events is a plus.
Knowledge of food and wine is a plus but not required. Previous experience in working in hotels, restaurants, or hospitality is also a plus.
Someone who maintains personal social media accounts (such as twitter) is a plus.
Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, CSS, coding in HTML, JavaScript, Excel, Wordpress, and Photoshop is a plus.
**Please email** including a cover letter stating your interest in the position, your career goals, a little about your background, as well as your salary requirements.
