Epoch Estate Wines has one remaining spot for harvest 2017! We are a small ultra-premium winery located in the historic York Mountain AVA of west Paso Robles. We focus on the production of high end Rhone blends made from our three estate vineyards. Our interns can expect a fun an educational harvest experience, with opportunities to be involved in all aspects of the winemaking process.
The internship will begin in August and finish approximately late October, depending on how the season goes. It is an hourly paid position, and overtime can be expected. Unfortunately we cannot offer housing or transportation, but harvest lunches are provided daily!
Job duties may include:
- Fruit processing (sorting, destemming, etc)
- Fermentation monitoring
- Basic laboratory analysis
- Winery sanitation
- Fermentation management (punchdowns, pumpovers, delestage, etc)
- Pressing
- Barrel work (Barrel downs, battonage, topping, etc)
- Additions and inoculations
- Other tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Prior experience and/or coursework in wine production is preferred
- Strong attention to detail & commitment to quality is appreciated
- Must be able and willing to work on your feet for extended shifts, including during weekends, and lift up to 50lbs
- Must have your own means of transportation
- Must be at least 21 years of age & eligible to work in the US
