Position Overview: Support Sales Division in achieving sales growth targets for fine wine portfolio.
Essential Job Functions:
· Work closely with sales management to increase fine wine distribution in assigned territory
· Meet priorities established in monthly Fine Wine Specialist objectives
· Develop and execute marketing strategy for selected fine wines
· Assist in educating sales force about fine wine portfolio and in successfully positioning fine wine in the marketplace
· Communicate fine wine product, pricing and program information to sales divisions
· Responsible for New Arrivals Tastings, including the preparation of in-depth product sheets
· Plan for and call regularly upon assigned accounts; conduct in-store fine wine tastings
· Provide work-with help to key fine wine suppliers
· Develop effective sales strategies directly in the trade (newsletters, display concepts, wine events, etc.)
· Act as effective and eloquent ambassador for fine wines at trade and consumer events
· Work with sales representatives to resolve fine wine pricing, availability and positioning issues
· Achieve fine wine sales revenue and growth priorities
· Constantly increase knowledge of fine wine through seminars, tasting events and self-study
· Establish and maintain solid customer relationships
· Assist in development of internal training materials for fine wine education
Education/Experience/Training:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Agility in responding to change; willing to work flexible schedule
- Strong analytic, strategic and creative ability
- Self-motivated and team oriented
- Candidate must possess valid Massachusetts driver’s license and registration
· College degree
· Minimum five years’ experience in sales and marketing in the fine wine segment of the wine industry
· Extensive knowledge of and passion for both domestic and imported fine wines
