Responsible for the organization of the warehouse, scheduling staff, directing employees, and issuing discipline as necessary. Adjusts schedules as necessary in both shipping and receiving areas, responsible for warehouse budgeting, order accuracy, productivity levels, and facility maintenance. Coordinates warehouse activities under the direction of the Sr. Warehouse Manager to ensure a well-coordinated shipping and receiving plan.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for the daily scheduling of warehouse personnel to ensure proper staffing in order to select and receive products at the facility in a productive and cost-efficient manner
• Directs the day-to-day activities of the warehouse. Such activities include shipping, receiving, sanitation, maintenance, inventory control, etc.
• Responsible for warehouse shrinkage, directing the inventory control coordinator as to out of stock, receiving errors, shipping errors, and warehouse slotting of products
• Generates warehouse productivity reports, in regard to productivity rates, and accounts for all labor hours, both direct and indirect. Adheres to budget requirements and works toward obtaining and division goals
• Responsible for maintenance of warehouse equipment, providing both preventive maintenance programs and all necessary repairs. Ensures that the warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment in order to perform the distribution functions.
• Responsible for warehouse safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean work place for employees and with the regulations of all OSHA local and state regulations.
• Recommends equipment modifications and replacements to management in order to upgrade and maintain warehouse productivity and efficiency.
• Acts as replacement for the Sr. Warehouse Manager during vacation periods, or when the Director is unavailable for staff meetings, etc.
• Responsible for the progressive disciplinary process in the area of counseling, oral and written warnings; ensures a productive labor climate in the warehouse operation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to operate various types of machinery to include, but not limited to, lift trucks, pallet jacks, hand trucks, conveyors, labelers, and robotic equipment.
• Must be able to frequently lift and carry weights of up to 50 pounds at varying frequencies.
• Possess the ability to work in a fast paced warehouse environment.
• Working environment has exposure to related warehouse equipment and associated noise levels.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting in the performance of various tasks in the warehouse environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

• College degree or equivalent experience in Warehouse management.
• 5 – 7 years supervision experience.
• Ability to set priorities and work independently within set guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to determine the root cause of the problem.
• Skill in organizing work efficiently.
• Self-starter with little direction required from upper management.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of shipping, receiving and warehouse practices.
• Sufficient computer skills to keep inventory records accurately on a daily basis.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to successfully pass applicable testing requirements.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
